Prototype v4 - post-jam update


"I can't draw" jam is over, but Discharge development only begins. Idea of game proved to be fairly interesting for people, so I will start now turning prototype into actual game.

For starts, I've decided to apply improvements based on general feedback on jam submission. I've tried to focus my attention on two major problematic points - recovery from spending all your energy, and harmless melee enemies. So, here comes prototype v4.

  • Energy rewards for enemies were slightly increased to provide more solid profit over energy spent
  • Energy stashes no longer have strict condition to spawn in rooms with enemies (this doesn't guarantee that you will find them in room without enemy in every run though)
  • Player can now trade 1 hull for 10 energy (and vice versa) in workshops
  • Reduced delay between attack initialization and actual attack for melee enemies
  • Taking damage now grants invincibility frames (applies to both player and enemies)

From now on, I will focus on expanding core game mechanics, e.g. providing various weapons to player.
